Grace: "When I describe Lake St. Charles to my friends-there are so many things I want to tell them! Transportation is one of the best features. Even if you have your own car, it's convenient in bad weather, or for those times when you just don't feel like driving. Lovely apartments, a lot of new friends, activities, a dining room, beauty shop, housekeeping-it's all here. I couldn't have it better!"
Art: "Even though I am retired, my days are still filled with things to do. I enjoy playing pool and bingo. I go on trips and out to eat, although I still like cooking in my apartment. I enjoy making popcorn for everyone, especially the staff!"
Alice: "Before moving to Lake St. Charles, I lived in my own home. There was so much to keep up with-mowing the lawn, raking leaves, things like that. I encourage anyone interested in living in a retirement community to come out an take a tour and see what Lake St Charles has to offer."
Anna: "I moved to Lake St. Charles to be closer to my family, and from the minute I walked in here, I got a good feeling. I maintain my independence here because I can still prepare meals in my own apartment, I do my own shopping, and plan my own schedule."
Lola: "The communication between the staff and the residents is great. We all seem to understand each other-- we're very good friends. I would recommend a retirement community to anyone. I feel so secure here, and that is worth so much."
Fred: "There are so many things I enjoy about living in a retirement community, but the thing I like the most is the service we get from housekeeping, transportation, etc. I like my apartment because, along with getting plenty of sunlight, it is very homey. I especially like the kitchen because I like to cook. I'm not on a meal plan, but I eat in our dining room a few times a week."
Maxine: "I really enjoy being with people, and around here there is always someone to talk to. When I want some privacy however, I enjoy staying in my apartment. Also, the Recreation Department here can't be beat! There's always something to do, and the parties and entertainment are especially fun."
Ralph: "I enjoy the pleasant companionship of the residents at Lake St. Charles, the food, the good activities, the pleasant surroundings and the affordability! A typical day for me is getting up around 5:00am with breakfast in our dining room around 7:30am. I usually stop by the Activity Department to see if there are any posters for me to work on. Later in the day, I might play a game of pool, walk to the lake, or enjoy some of the activities. For dinner, I cook my meal in my apartment, and then I usually watch a little TV and take a walk around the building to end the day."
Isabell: "I looked at a lot of places and they just did not feel right because they were telling me I had to eat 3 meals a day. When my daughter and I walked into Lake St. Charles for the first time, I told her this was home. They give you choices. I brought my sons at a later date, and they felt very comfortable as well. The entire staff is always happy, and I've made a lot of friends.
Barbara: "A-1" The staff at Lake St. Charles is truly outstanding. They are always kind, friendly, and willing to do anything for me. I love wildlife and they let me have a garden and a birdbath so that I can watch from my patio doors. I eat 2 meals per day, however, you can choose to cook for yourself if you wish. I've lived in 2 other retirement communities in different states, and my apartment offers a lot more closet space than the previous apartments, and gives me access to my son who lives close by. The housekeeping service is wonderful. We have transportation and our recreation department offers numerous activities to partake in. Lake St. Charles is indeed a great place to live.
Norma: "What initially brought me to Lake St. Charles was the fact that I was able to bring Rusty my 12 year old dog. He has been my companion for the last 12 years, and I was just not going to give him up. Lake St. Charles was a blessing for me because they allowed me to keep my loving pet. Shortly after moving in, I realized all my needs were being met- housekeeping, beauty shop, meals if I want them, and especially transportation, since I have given up my car. The staff makes me feel at home."
